How much is the entry fee?

The cost of participation to MONGOLIA BIKE CHALLENGE is:

BIKERS (FLIGHT COST NOT INCLUDED)
  • -FROM OCTOBER 1, 2010 TO FEBRUARY 28, 2011: € 1.590
  • -FROM MARCH 1, 2011 TO APRILE 30, 2011: € 1.750
  • -FROM MAY 1,2011 TO JUNE 30, 2011 : € 1.890

The subscriptions will close June 30th, 2011 !!!

Yes, you can but only if the support IS NOT during the stage !!!

The cost for each accompanyng people will be € 1.590

All the people have to be in Ulaan Baatar not later then july 30, 2011 !
The first stage
will begin august 2, 2011 !

Do I need a VISA permit to enter in Mongolia ?

 

It depends about your nationality. Usually the UE citizens need VISA permit !!!

Who buy the fly tickets?

 

We only ifmanage  fly from Italy or Spain.

It depends when you will buy the ticket.
And it dipends to from exactly you will fly.
From EUROPE strating from €1000.

How many bags can I bring whith me ?

 

One bike and one 70 lt soft bag !

Yes, as you can see on the technical schedule !

From where will start the race?

 

From Dalanzagad, 500km south-west Ulaan Baatar.

How I can reach the start of the race?

 

With an internal flight reserved by the organization .

Where we'll sleep at the finish of each stage?

 

In tent or TOURIST CAMP furnished from the organization.

I have to pick up sleeping bag and matress ?

 

Yes, whith confort of -5º degree C.(in 2010 edition it snowed)
You will need matress too (you can also buy it in Ulaan Bataar) !

Is possible to sleep in hotel at finish of each stage?

 

NOT, is not possible !!!

Where we'll eat ?

 

On the camp site fixed at the end of each stage !

Can I have a team race?

 

Yes but the classification is only for "solo" !

There will be feeding stations along the race?

 

Yes, promidium every 45/50 km !

The trail will be well marked?

 

Yes, and every biker will recive the GPS tracks of the all 10 stages !

What happen if I don't finish one stage?

 

You will be over classification, but the day after you could start biking  again !

If I decide to withdraw can I immediately go back home?

 

The land where we will move is really wild, so it will be possible in determined points.
The cost of the evacuation they will be payed by the racer !

What wheater will we find in Mongolia?

 

In the first part we can find 40/45º C during the day and 10º C during the night.
In the second half of MBC it will be colder whith possibility of snow on the hight pass.
During the night  the temperature could descent below 0º C !

Are there prizes for the winners?

 

The total awards is € 15.000...

Does the entry fee include some type of insurance?

 

The entry fee include a local insurance during the day of the race, but this don't cover any cost of repatriation.

Will we have medical assistance during and after the stages?

 

The Medical Staff of MBC is able to follow and take care of all the athlets during the whole race.
The medical assistance team includes local specialized people and European mambers in order to garantee the maximum efficiency during the communications.

Some vaccinations are necessary?

 

Not, it's not ! But we suggest the ANTITETANUS !!!

What type of medicines is better to bring with me?

We suggest the following:

•    Antibiotics for intestinal infections (e.g. Cyprofloxacin cp 500 mg)
•    Antidyarrhoic drugs (e.g. Loperamid cp)
•    Analgesic drugs (e.g. Paracetamol, Aspirin, Diclofenac)
•    Antiacids (e.g. Maalox)
•    Sunscreen and topic cortison
•    Eyedrops
•    Adhesive bandages
•    Mouthwash for sore throat

MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE

What type of mechanical assistance will we have?


 The organiztion will, at the end of each stage, have a mechanics station which will have most of what is necessary for the normal disassembly and maintenance of a mountain bike. Any part provided by the organization will be charged to the racer at a market price.

Can I bring a personal mechanic?
Yes you can, but he can give you assistance just before or after the stage, never during the race.

Must I have to bring bike parts and accessories?
Although we will be equipped with everything, we consider necessary that each of you brings some pieces for his own bike: 
    •    - Bottom bracket bearings.
    •    - Spokes for ant e post wheel, right and left side  
    •    - Wheel. 
    •    - Inner tubes.   
    •    - Repair kit.  
    •    - Brake pads 
    •    - Rear derailleur frame support  
    •    - Chain and chain tool
    •    - Head set bearings 
    •    - Lock Seat tube collar
    •    - Bleed kit  
    •    - Mono shock or rebuild kit 
    •    - Rear derailleur 
    •    - Shoes
    •    - Plastic clamps to fix the number
