Ryan Leech & Lululemon: Yoga at the MBC

Lululemon Elite Ambassador, Ryan Leech, will be leading daily restorative yoga sessions at this year's Mongolia Bike Challenge presented by Orbea.

Leech, a professional mountain biker himself, believes in the benefits of yoga for cyclists and endurance athletes and hopes everyone will join him on the mat post-race:

"What are you willing to do in order to maximize your performance and magnify your enjoyment at the Mongolia Bike Challenge? At the end of each stage, I’m going to suggest investing in a 30 minute yoga practice to consciously recover rather than passively going with the flow. Their new 29er carbon wheelset are the perfect wheels for the performance demands of the MBC.

The Reynolds 29er carbon wheelset offers a combination of a wide rim (29 mm outside and 21 inside), a low spoke count (24 holes) and ultra-light spokes (DT-Revolution, 2 x laced). The inward leaning rim walls and radius help with bead locking, minimize pinch flatting, but they also structurally stiffen the rim. The wheels were designed with durability, strength and stiffness to accommodate almost any riding style.

Rims are full carbon and laid up by hand in Reynolds' privately owned carbon rim manufacturing facility in Asia. They use 5 different types of Mitsubishi Carbon in the rim lay-up depending on the need and attributes of the carbon. All wheels are designed and tested at Reynolds SLC. All molds are cut in-house. Orbea has just been announced as the new Presenting Sponsor of the Mongolia Bike Challenge. Last year Orbea signed on as the Official Sponsor of the MBC for three years but after the success of the 2011 edition, the industry-leading bicycle company decided to increase their level of support for the event.

The third edition of the Mongolia Bike Challenge, presented by Orbea, will run from July 28 to August 11, 2012. The event is over 50% sold-out with at least 19 countries to be represented.]]>

MARZIO DEHO WILL RACE AT THE BC BIKE RACE AND THE MONGOLIA BIKE CHALLENGE

Marzio Deho, winner of the 2008 Trans Rockies and 2010 Mongolia Bike Challenge, will be racing at the BC Bike Race and defending his title at the Mongolia Bike Challenge this summer.

BC Bike Race, which takes place July 2-9, is entering its 5th year as an Epic Race and has established a solid reputation as a World Class event. Deho will be competing in the solo category at this year’s BCBR.

BC Bike Race’s Andreas Hestler commented on Deho’s appearance this year:
“Having competitors like Marzio Deho put us into his schedule means we have reached Global awareness. Marzio is an international caliber Marathon racer who will lift the level of competition at BCBR to a new height. We are super excited to host Marzio to the BCBR this year and know that he will have an amazing experience”.

Deho will then head across the Pacific where he will defend his title at the 2nd Edition of the Mongolia Bike Challenge. He will be racing for his team, Olympia, and be supported by MECWOR PRECISION

Mongolia Bike Challenge, in collaboration with Official Sponsor, ORBEA, has decided to introduce a new word to our event: LUCK!

  Each participant registered in the MBC before June 30, 2011, will be entered in a contest to win one of two ORBEA ALMA 29er S50 bicycles.  

The Orbea Alma 29er incorporates all of the technology that has become the benchmark for bicycles in international competition.

Julien Absalon & Orbea Racing Team have achieved titles such as Gold at the Beijing Olympics, MTB World Cup, and MTB World Championships.

First appearance for Mongolia Bike Challenge

First appearance for Mongolia Bike Challenge introduced to the public with its appealing stand last july 25 at Riva del Garda during the Transalp final stage.
The stand of the Mongolia Bike Challenge received those who were interested and eager to learn more about it and had thus the chance to question and requesting to its creator: Willy Mulonia, already well known in the offroad field and for his extreme performances and round the world travel.
Many illustrious guests visited the stand, first of all the solitary sailor Alex Bellini, the passionate biker who holds the record for crossing the Pacific Ocean rowing in solitary (18000 km in 294 days, ending on December 13, 2008), himself a cyclist from the very beginning of his appassionate sport life.
The Marathon World Champion in 2004 Massimo De Bertolis immediately after his arrival on the finish line of Riva Del Garda spent some time at the stand showing great interest for the Challenge in Mongolia.
While Marzio Deho the many time champion of mountain biking signed the registration to the MBC.
